Last week on Southern Hospitality, TJ and Joe Bradley finally made amends. Maddi got a gig in Las Vegas and planned to perform her new song with Grace Lilly. Emmy angered the Republic staff by skipping her shift and walking by the bar with Will to rub it in their faces. As if there wasn’t enough drama, Austin revealed to the others that Will allegedly cheated on Emmy at a law school party. Here’s what happened on Southern Hospitality Season 3 Episode 6, “Viva Las Vegas!”
What happened on Southern Hospitality Season 3 Episode 6?
This week, the Southern Hospitality cast heads to Las Vegas for Maddi’s show. Considering they just found out about the latest cheating rumor, things are super awkward. And that’s even before Will shows up. Mia rejoins the cast in person after spending most of the season on a phone screen. But it turns out she has major tension with Austin. When Grace Lilly is a no-show at breakfast and sound check, Maddi fears that her friend is going to bail on performing their new song.
The Southern Hospitality cast processes Austin’s bombshell about Emmy and Will
This week’s episode picks up 24 hours after Austin dropped the cheating bombshell. Maddi and TJ are still processing it, and feel bad that people are talking behind Emmy’s back about her relationship yet again. Like last year’s rumor, this cheating allegedly took place in a bathroom. Maddi and TJ want to make sure they have some facts before they consider telling Emmy.
TJ tried texting Emmy just to check in, but she responded that he should talk to Will. TJ also found out from Brad that Will is blaming him for spreading gossip. Maddi worries that Emmy is so desperate to believe her relationship is perfect that she won’t hear them out. For now, she just wants to support Emmy.
Brad doesn’t believe Austin’s rumor. TJ isn’t sure and explains how Austin could’ve heard this gossip. Turns out, Austin rekindled things with his ex-girlfriend days before. This girl’s brother just graduated from the same law school Will goes to. Austin won’t admit if his girlfriend told him about the rumor. But TJ is convinced that’s what happened. And that Austin isn’t revealing his sources because he doesn’t want to damage the relationship.
The Republic crew takes Vegas
Emmy is still mad about Lake Wylie, but she agrees to go to Vegas to support Maddi. She’s also reassured that Will is coming. However, once the others arrive in Vegas, Will calls Emmy to let her know there’s heavy traffic that may make him miss his flight. The others aren’t buying it and seem convinced he missed a flight on purpose. Emmy confides in a producer that she’s gonna lock herself in her room all weekend if he doesn’t come. Thankfully, Will booked another flight, though he doesn’t get in until 1 am.
When they arrive at the hotel, Maddi has her pinch-me moment when she sees the giant billboards advertising her show. Everyone is amazed by their rooms. Especially Maddi, Joe, Emmy, and eventually Will, who share the presidential suite.
Brad’s flirting with the concierge bothers Lake. As it turns out, he friend-zoned her days before the trip. She gets revenge by hooking up with a guy she meets at the bar. Later on, Brad flirts with Lake as she applies his sunscreen. On another note, Michols gushes that his romance with Preston is going strong.
What is Austin’s beef with Mia?
Mia surprises everyone in Vegas now that she’s done with the pageant. Emmy is thrilled to have another ally. But Austin is peeved. Turns out, he doesn’t like Mia after an interaction at another King Street restaurant. He called her “gross” but TJ and Brad claimed he called her a “b*tch.” What is this, a storyline from Southern Charm?
As it turns out, Mia gave him her number when he worked at a restaurant. But he was interested in the other women she was with. The next time they saw each other, she was with another guy and confronted him about not calling her. The way Austin was acting, I expected it to be a much bigger situation. Mia can be a lot, but I think Austin is being unnecessarily rude here.
TJ and Brad also catch Mia up to speed on the latest Will rumor. She says she’s staying out of it. According to her, Emmy could literally watch Will cheat and still defend him.
A very awkward breakfast
Maddi has the others over for a catered breakfast in their presidential suite. Grace Lilly is a no-show, preferring to sleep in. Maddi starts to get worried.
Will joins the rest of the group for the first time since Emmy’s initial meltdown. It is unbearably awkward as the others avoid talking to him. It probably would’ve been awkward even before the latest round of rumors, but that certainly makes the tension worse. Will is miffed that no one even says hi. Michols jokes that he should greet Will by asking if he cheated on Emmy with anyone in the plane bathroom.
Will’s joke that they got the fresh fruit from the desert earns crickets. But Emmy mentioning she drank her sister’s breast milk is too bizarre for them to ignore. While she insists it was delicious, Brad calls this “white people sh*t.” But he and TJ are glad that Emmy wasn’t ignoring them at breakfast, even if it was an unexpected topic.
Grace Lilly keeps Maddi waiting
At dinner the night before, Grace Lilly seemingly admits she’s never performed live. But she claims she’s not nervous to perform. As she jokes with a producer, “Obviously, champagne helps.” She promises the table that she’s ready.
Maddi is already anxious because this is the biggest venue she’s performed at so far. It really doesn’t help when Grace Lilly skips sound check to sleep in. As the clock winds down, Joe can’t reach her by text or phone. Austin, who shared a room with her, reveals that Grace Lilly was in no hurry to get ready.
Joe is furious for Maddi’s sake, arguing that Grace Lilly is throwing away an opportunity that was offered on a silver platter. He also insists there’s no excuse to be late because the time of the show is projected on the side of the building. He’s got a point there. Five minutes before Maddi’s set, Grace is still nowhere in sight. We end on a cliffhanger. Next week, we’ll see if the show must go on.
Southern Hospitality airs Thursdays on Bravo.
