According to The Daily Dish, Sonja’s daughter Quincy shared the sad news via her Instagram Story. “I want to take the opportunity to tell you all myself that my father passed away this month. My family is navigating this together. I very much loved and admired my dad. I am so grateful for the love and care I have been shown in these past weeks,” she wrote.
So, what is the history between Sonja and John? John started the investment firm Morgan Lewis Githens & Ahn, Inc. In 2002, he also founded Morgan Joseph LLC.
In 1998, Sonja and John were married. Unfortunately, their union didn’t last, and they finalized their divorce about eight years later. When he passed away, John was married to his fifth wife, Connie Morgan.
In 2018, Sonja shared some insight into her divorce. “First of all, I like to say I didn’t divorce the family. My husband and I divorce. He didn’t divorce me,” Sonja stated. “I didn’t divorce him. We love each other. We love our daughter,” she added. Plus, RHONY viewers know how Sonja still considers herself part of the Morgan family.
During her time on RHONY, Sonja caught some flack when she compared her divorce to the death of Dorinda Medley’s husband. For years, Sonja mentioned the pain of her divorce as if it had just happened.
However, Sonja recently made some big life changes. In May 2024, she sold her townhouse on the Upper East Side, which was like a cast member on RHONY. Plus, she recently moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, and is pursuing her creative endeavors.
The Reality Tea staff offers our sincere condolences to Sonja and Quincy for their loss.
