Get ready for a summer without The Bachelorette. We know that’s a bummer, but the word on the street is that ABC has put the show on pause for 2025. The worst part? There’s no telling when it’s going to return.
As reality TV fans, we know that the phrase “on pause” is usually a soft way of saying “canceled.” However, that doesn’t seem to be the case for The Bachelorette. Insiders suggest this might literally be a pause from the higher-ups at ABC. Here’s what we know.
The Bachelorette has an uncertain future in 2025

Deadline exclusively shared the news about The Bachelorette going dark for 2025. The long-running dating show typically gears up for production around this time of year and then airs in the summer. Their insiders confirmed that won’t be the case this year.
“It’s unlikely to air this year, but insiders have not completely ruled out its return later this year,” said the outlet.
There’s no word on why The Bachelorette is skipping a season, but it could be due to the increasingly vast Bachelor Nation universe they’ve created. With The Golden Bachelor series now in the mix, the ABC execs could be trying to prevent their audience from getting Bachelor fatigue. They can only give out so many roses in a year before people start getting bored.
Similarly, ABC put Bachelor in Paradise on pause last year. They aired The Golden Bachelorette during its normal timeslot while Bachelor in Paradise is set to return later this year. With that in mind, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for The Bachelorette’s return in 2026.
The Bachelorette is streaming on Hulu.
