Southern Hospitality is one of Bravo’s newer shows that we’ve quickly grown fond of. The crew of bottle service waiters at Republic Garden and Lounge in Charleston is just made for reality TV drama. The cast loves to fight as much as they love to make up, and that’s usually because they’re all hooking up with one another.
The latest season of Southern Hospitality finally saw its two stars Maddi Reese and Joe Bradley get together. Joe’s had a crush on Maddi since we met him during Season 1, so it was a long time coming. In the latest episode, Joe surprised Maddi with a shotgun wedding (not the legally binding kind) in Las Vegas. While they may not have technically tied the knot, Joe explained why it was a symbolic ceremony for him.
Joe Bradley is ready for wedding bells
In an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Joe explained the significance of the wedding. “I really wanted to surprise Maddi with something truly romantic. But it wasn’t only Maddi that needed some love and laughter, it was the entire group — especially after that crazy dinner,” Joe said. Joe’s logic of throwing a fake wedding to divert his friends from fighting is something only he would ever do.
As for his relationship, Joe believed the wedding showed he was “100 percent committed” to Maddi. “A real marriage isn’t only a dream for us, but a reality in the future,” he added. That’s a man with a mission.
Despite his good intentions, Joe teased that the aftermath of the Vegas wedding wasn’t smooth sailing. “As you’ll see in weeks to come, the ceremony sparked some real concerns of our future we hadn’t addressed yet,” Joe said. “Going back to Charleston wasn’t the picture-perfect honeymoon we hope to have one day.” He confirmed that he and Maddi are “stronger than ever” these days, but it sounds like the wedding bells may have ruffled some feathers.
