Bravo Stars Who Could Have Performed on SNL

NBC has multiple long-running hits on their networks. But none are more popular than Saturday Night Live, Real Housewives, Summer House, and Southern Charm. While there are definitely a few honorable mentions, these shows have broken barriers. All are humorous and let their audience escape their troubles for an evening. So, with the 50th Anniversary of SNL streaming on Peacock, I thought it was only appropriate that an article be written about possible musical guests and hosts from the Bravosphere. Here’s who I rounded up.

Luann de Lesseps as a musical act

I love Cher. Like I can’t express enough how this woman is a goddess to me. So when I saw her at 78 rocking her If I Could Turn Back Time look, I knew which Bravo star I’d pick to follow her. Without a doubt, Luann de Lesseps would have to be a musical act if there were an all-Bravo cast. The countess has quite a following and an immense stage presence. By now, she is a seasoned performer with costume changes and everything. She can improv, so there isn’t a worry about her forgetting her lines. Lu also has the dry humor of some pretty famous guests, so she’d fit right in with the big wigs. If in doubt, find a Joe Bradley-like fan who looks at Luann the way Kevin Costner looks at Cher.

Paige DeSorbo could be the equal to Ariana Grande

Paige DeSorbo and Ariana Grande are two peas in a pod. Both are incredibly talented and can hold anyone’s attention. The Summer Houses star is right on the mark and hot with current trends. Whether she is telling Kyle Cooke how to treat his wife, judging Lindsay Hubbard’s shoulder pads, or just having a mini breakdown about leaving New York, Paige resonates with the common man. I can imagine her pulling off skit after skit as perfectly as Ariana. Both share a comedic timing that just can’t be taught. Paige and Airana are so confident and yet self-deprecating at the same moment. Paige could easily be an SNL legend.

The RHONJ husbands need an SNL spot

I couldn’t have just one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey husbands. This group is a packaged deal, but their humor and timing are just unmatched. Like the comedians on SNL, the RHONJ husbands have a bond that is extremely hard to break. They banter with one another and have their inside jokes like hitting a gold ball off an ass cheek. Joe Gorga reminds me of a young Chris Kattan. At the same time, Frank Catania is the Will Ferrell of the group. Instead of an SNL Night at the Roxbury, it would be a Night at the Garden State.

Kyle Cooke would have viewers laughing out loud

What helps Kyle the most when it comes to making viewers laugh is the fact that he hasn’t really grown up. He is forever a kid, but that is endearing when you are working on a sketch show because you can just be yourself. And one thing is for sure the Loverboy creator is unapologetically always himself. He reminds me of Andy Samberg in a way. Both come up with off-the-cuff remarks that end up becoming an epic one-liner. Remember Kyle’s “Summer should be fun!” quote? I bet you Dollars to Donuts Andy could have made that into a Lonely Island song.

Aesha Scott has fart humor

@bravotv

Here’s 47 seconds of Aesha being Aesha. You’re welcome. #BelowDeckMed

Perhaps one of the funniest women on Bravo is Aesha Scott. The yachtie has never backed away from slapstick comedy that would make a toddler giggle. The Chief Stew takes the world of observational humor to a different level. It probably also helps that she is given so much material by being forced to live in small quarters. I still recall Aesha saying, “Please, Poseidon, God of the Ocean, give me stews who know how to do their job.” Honestly, she had me at Poseidon.

I’m drooling at the idea of a totally Bravocentric SNL episode. Lorne, can we make this happen?
