Shep Rose is down bad on the current season of Southern Charm. He’s wearing rose-colored glasses when it comes to his relationship with Sienna Evans. Shep seems to think he’s going to move to the Bahamas and live happily ever after. However, Sienna’s distance is evident to everyone but him.
In the latest Southern Charm episode, Shep’s first night in the Bahamas was not the fairytale he imagined. Sienna opted to ditch the group activities by the second day, leading to Shep sending her a novel of a text message. Among other things, his cringy references to Sienna’s “perfect little freckled lips” made Austen Kroll crawl out of his skin for his friend. Now that the entire group is aware of the infamous (and unanswered) text, Charleston’s finest has plenty of opinions to share.
Second-hand embarrassment for Shep Rose
During the most recent Southern Charm After Show, the crew reacted to hearing Shep’s text to Sienna in its entirety. Mainly, the crew couldn’t believe how long the message was. “If there’s one thing you don’t do,” Taylor Ann Green said, “It’s send a long text.” Craig Conover demonstrated the “full swipes” with his hands, mimicking Shep’s scrolling on his phone to relay the message to his friends.
Some Southern Charmers tried to be nice while still throwing a little shade at the move. Rodrigo Reyes described Shep as a “wordsmith,” but admitted it was “kind of cringy” to hear. Others like Molly O’Connell, who openly has a crush on Shep, respected his honesty. “Shep has a way with words,” Molly said. “It’s not often that someone has a bigger vocabulary than I do. It was poetic. It was beautiful, I thought.” Oh jeez, maybe these two really are meant for each other.
Good intentions, bad delivery

Fellow newbie Salley Carson also stayed on the nice road with her response. “If somebody texted me that, and I was into him,” she said. “I’d be like, let’s have babies today.” OK, but it’s clear Sienna wasn’t that into him. Therein lies the problem.
Finally, Madison LeCroy gave the best advice to edit Shep’s text. “Sum it up, make it shorter, less thirsty, and less like a simp,” she said. It might be too little, too late for Shep with Sienna, but it’s solid life advice.
Southern Charm continues on Thursdays at 8/7 on Bravo.
