West Wilson went from the lovable Summer House newbie last year to the biggest player in the house. We can basically blame it all on the breakdown of his relationship with Ciara Miller. West’s handling of the breakup left a bad taste in the mouths of both viewers and some of his cast mates. Now, he is on a redemption tour, and it’s only his second season of the show.
Considering West is still regarded as a newbie in the Hamptons, it’s not surprising that he’s not at the same level of fame as some of the OGs. West also reveals that his Bravo paycheck doesn’t equate to some of the long-standing cast members on a recent episode of the “Trading Secrets” podcast with Jason Tartick.
West Wilson speaks his truth
During the podcast, Jason and West discussed the paychecks of the Summer House stars. To West’s understanding, it’s based on each person’s tenure on the show. “If they have it in their contract that it’s just gradual. Then it is that,” West said. “I know that the people who have been there from the beginning certainly make way more than Jesse [Solomon] and I do.”
Apparently, West was “under the impression” that payment was “linear” for the cast, but quickly learned differently. While he wouldn’t indulge in exactly how much he makes per episode, he insinuated that it isn’t major money. Jason asked at one point if West was making “more in brand opportunities” than he does while filming the show or in his day job as a sports journalist. “Oh yeah,” West confirmed. There you have it – West isn’t anywhere near the top of Bravo’s highest-paid stars list. However, he’s doing pretty well as an influencer.
Summer House continues on Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
