Chace Crawford mourned the loss of his “Gossip Girl” co-star Michelle Trachtenberg on Instagram, describing her as “one of a kind.” He reminisced, “I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it.” Crawford praised his fellow cast member, calling her a “force of nature” who was “unapologetically funny and magnetic.”
The actor, who played Nate Archibald in the television series, uploaded two selfies and another photo of them together. While the selfies were from the same event, the third picture was an unseen BTS photo from the “Gossip Girl” set. In the fun image, Crawford rocked a fake baby bump, which Trachtenberg could be seen cradling. The 39-year-old played the role of the chic villain Georgina Sparks. The character quickly became a fan favorite after her appearance in the teen drama’s first season.
According to PEOPLE, Ed Westwick also paid tribute to Trachtenberg. He told the outlet, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Michelle but I remember a talented, sharp, funny, and warm soul.” The actor also took to his Instagram stories to honor Trachtenberg with an emotional post. Westwick noted that the news of her untimely death was “so sad.” Moreover, he stated that he would keep his co-star and her family in his prayers.
According to AP News, Trachtenberg was found “unconscious and unresponsive” in an apartment in Manhattan. Police found her body while responding to a 911 call. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical workers. While the investigation is still ongoing, the New York Police Department has stated that criminal activity was not suspected.
