The course of love and child support never did run smoothly for Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen. If you previously kept track of their messy past, you’ll remember that a judge ruled in 2021 that he did not need to continue to pay child support for their two daughters. So he dropped payments after the ruling.
At the time, the judge’s ruling to stop child support was just another drop in an already messy bucket. Denise was still earning from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, she exited the show and lost that paycheck around the same time Charlie’s child support stopped.
A source claims Denise Richards filmed reality show for “cash” after Charlie Sheen stopped child support payments
At the time, Denise was largely out of the spotlight but it would have been understandable that she was looking for new ways to earn. One avenue is her OnlyFans page where Denise has shared that she’s made pretty good money. Another is her new show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things which premiered this March.
On the heels of the premiere of her new show, a source close to Denise told The Sun that the “only reason” she did the show is for the cash.
“The only reason she’s doing the reality show is the same reason she’s doing her OnlyFans — she needs the money,” the source claimed. “She never thought Charlie would file to stop paying child support. She was blindsided when the court ruled against her. Then Bravo let her go from RHOBH and all her biggest incomes were off the table.”
The source added that Denise still acts and does smaller projects. But it’s nowhere near what she was making several years ago. However, the insider also claims that Denise was “happy” filming the new show as she got to “control her own narrative.”
Indeed, it hasn’t been an easy past several years. Denise claimed Charlie owed her over $450,000 in child support, which he denied. And she went through a rough patch with Lola and Sami who went back and forth from their mom to their dad. Fortunately, Denise, her daughters, and Charlie are all in a better place now.
And fans will get to see their dynamic on the show starring Denise and her daughters plus her husband Aaron Phypers along with a whole slew of guest friends and former RHOBH castmates.
