Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards announced their split in July 2023, but talk of their separation is coming up again as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills continues its season. Viewers are getting a lot of context on the situation. And there is some interest in reconsidering who leaked Mauricio and Kyle’s split in the first place. It’s an unsolved mystery, though there is a rumor that Faye Resnick was the leaker.
On the recent RHOBH episode, Kyle is now reacting to Mauricio’s makeout sesh with Nikita Kahn at the airport in Mykonos. Notably, Faye also made an appearance at Jennifer Tilly’s caviar luncheon. And the supposed best friends were not seen interacting at all. It all adds fuel to the speculation that she may have leaked Kyle’s most vulnerable news to the press.
Faye Resnick denies leaking Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s split
“This is absolutely untrue,” Faye told OK!.
Faye explained that she and Kyle spoke about the “made-up story” of her involvement. Further, she claimed that Kyle did not want to publicly respond to the rumor.
An insider suggested to OK! that Faye was a likely source of the leak as she is “in Kyle’s inner circle and likely would have been privy to information regarding her personal life.”
“When Kyle and Mauricio announced they were separating, the info did not initially come from them,” the insider suggested. “It came from a source. On the show, Kyle discussed this in a confessional, saying she had no idea who had leaked their private info but that Mauricio thought he knew and she didn’t seem to want to believe it. There was speculation last year it may have been Faye Resnick and that’s definitely seeming quite plausible.”
They continued, “When Faye appeared at Jennifer Tilly’s caviar party on the current season. Fans did NOT see Kyle interact with Faye whatsoever. In fact, Kathy [Hilton] was the one who brought Faye to the caviar party — and it’s a known fact that Kathy and Kyle have had their share of drama over the years and Kathy does associate with people Kyle doesn’t necessarily get along with.”
Kyle and Faye still follow each other on social media. But the source does not put a lot stock into that. The insider suggested it’s “just for show” or to “not have people talking/speculating.”
“While no one will come out and confirm that this is 100 percent what happened, there’s definitely chatter around the neighborhood that it could be what occurred,” the insider concluded.
