‘Why Does Wendy’s Not Like Katy Perry?’ Trends After Unprovoked Tweet

Wendy’s seemingly took a sly dig at Katy Perry in an unprovoked tweet after her 11-minute space trip with Blue Origin and its first all-female crew. The fast food chain’s official X (formerly Twitter) account responded to Pop Crave’s post about Perry’s safe return to Earth following her brief but historic mission with the ladies. The singer was a part of the star-studded team comprising of broadcaster Gayle King, scientists Amanda Nguyen and Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez. Since then, queries such as “Why does Wendy’s not like Katy Perry?” have been trending on the internet as people raise questions about a beef there.

Wendy’s posts unprovoked tweet after Katy Perry completes Blue Origin space trip

Amid critical discussions about Blue Origin’s latest space trip, Wendy’s reacted to an X (formerly Twitter) post announcing Katy Perry’s return with a sly tweet. Pop Crave’s post shared a photo of the singer, who was a part of the six-member all-female crew, announcing that she “has returned from space.” To this, the fast food restaurant’s official account responded, “Can we send her back?” The account then shared a photo of her kissing the ground after exiting the shuttle with the text, referring to her “I Kissed a Girl” song. It read, “I kissed the ground and i liked it.”

The fast food chain continued tweeting back with more witty responses on replies, including one that pointed out that Perry “was only up there for like 10mins, right?” Its reply read, “Don’t short change her it was 11 minutes.” The Wendy’s account even poked fun at the mission’s short span, writing, “I can dissociate for a lot longer than 11 minutes.” In another instance, it joked, “I’m a woman send me to space.” Another sly dig referred to her song “Firework,” reading, “Now she knows what it’s like to be a plastic bag floating in the wind.”

After Wendy’s dissed Katy Perry’s space trip with Blue Origin in its stark tweet, Kesha seemingly sided with the chain, as per the New York Post. The latter shared a photo on her official X sipping a drink from the fast food chain without sharing any context about the post. In the picture, she smiled at the camera while biting on the red straw and holding a Wendy’s tumbler.
