Tom Schwartz Gives Update on TomTom Bar With Sandoval

Ages before Scandoval, it was considered a good business decision to open a restaurant with Tom Sandoval. Luckily for Tom Schwartz, that bar opened in 2018, well before the former Tom’s affair with Vanderpump Rules alum Rachel Leviss. So it was well established before the same news took down Schwartz & Sandy’s. But Schwartz wanted to assure patrons and fans that Tom Tom is very much still in business.

Schwartz & Sandy’s opened in November 2022. Months later, the fledgling business was hit with poor reviews and boycotts. The public made it known that they would not support a business owned by Sandoval. Unfortunately, Schwartz was also hit financially by proxy of his business relationship. The bar closed on December 21, 2024.

Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval’s bar TomTom is “popping”

Schwartz took to his Instagram Stories recently to announce that the West Hollywood restaurant is “still popping.” He shared several snaps of the goings-on at Tom Tom. Bravo’s The Daily Dish rounded up the photos.

SUR manager Peter Madrigal made an appearance in one. Schwartz captioned the pick with his former VPR costar “Brunches @ TomTom.”

In another, Schwartz posed with several TomTom patrons and wrote “Saturday hangs” on the image. A third pic of The Valley star and manager Logan Cochran promised that “[Tom Tom] still popping tonight.”

Zack Wickham appeared in one clip, vibing to the music scene. Schwartz captioned it, “[Zack] full range of emotion.” Late DJ Avicii was credited for bringing energy to the place in a final image.

Schwartz reflected on losing Schwartz & Sandy’s on The Valley

It’s a conflicting message to the one he shared on The Valley After Show with Jax Taylor and Jesse Lally. Then, Schwartz spoke about finding “closure” and a “newfound sense of peace” after losing Schwartz & Sandy’s.

“Honestly, I think I’m still processing everything that happened,” he shared. “I’m at least proud to say that I can walk away knowing that I put everything I had into that place,” he said. “Almost all of my money. Lord knows I over-leveraged myself. I feel like we really never were fully accepted or embraced by the neighborhood, but I’m f*cking proud of that place.”

Schwartz continued, “It was like perpetual, constant anxiety — when you’re hemorrhaging money. And you know that this place with your name on the side of the building is not doing as well. Your employees are suffering now. They can’t pay their bills. It’s just a lot.”

Ultimately, Schwartz felt that he was “too soft” prior to opening Schwartz & Sandy’s. He explained, “If anything, now I feel like I have so much more life experience. I have more grit … I feel like I have just a newfound respect and appreciation for life … And I just feel like I’m growing in so many ways.”
