Blake Lively’s inclusion in the TIME 100 “Most Influential People of the Year” didn’t sit well with one person in particular, who criticized her for attending the gala on Thursday. Journalist and attorney Megyn Kelly, who also made it to the list, publicly called out the actor in a harsh tirade to the Daily Mail. Kelly further slammed Lively, who walked the red carpet with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in another rare outing, for depreciating “Me Too allegations” in her legal battle against Justin Baldoni.
Journalist Megyn Kelly believes Blake Lively shouldn’t be at TIME 100 gala
Megyn Kelly was enraged over Blake Lively‘s attendance at the TIME 100 Gala. The event happened amid the lawsuit against “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment, claims he has since denied. Lively attended alongside Ryan Reynolds, but the journalist believed she shouldn’t have attended. Both women were among the magazine’s 100 “Most Influential People of the Year.” However, that didn’t stop Kelly from lambasting her while talking to the Daily Mail. “It’s a ridiculous joke,” she said of the actor’s presence at the gala, adding, “She shouldn’t be here.”
Kelly told the publication on the red carpet that she thinks Lively “launched a fake Me Too allegation against [Baldoni].” She then opined that the “Gossip Girl” alum likely regrets it because “every allegation she has made has fallen apart.” She appeared enraged over Lively receiving the honor, despite trying “to ruin a man over absolutely nothing is a scandal. Kelly also accused her of filing “Me Too allegations against people who don’t deserve it.”
Megyn Kelly further made a subtle dig at TIME for including Blake Lively in its list of the 100 personalities. She called it out for “looking for big stars to come here and generate pages on their magazines.”
As for Lively’s legal battle against Justin Baldoni, Kelly emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to validate said claims. “Otherwise, no one who has actually experienced these things is going to be believed,” said the journalist, who previously accused her FOX News boss, Roger Ailes, of sexual harassment.
