Madison Beer recalled receiving an apology after her nude photos and videos, which were sent to a romantic partner in confidence, got leaked at the age of 15. The incident took place when the singer was taking the first steps in her flourishing career. During an interview with Cosmopolitan, Beer revealed that the “boy who the whole nude situation happened with,” reached out to her. The 26-year-old artist shared that he was like, “I had no idea that I hurt you like this. I’m so sorry.”
Beer continued to say that she doesn’t “know how it feels to be a 14-year-old boy receiving photos of a girl.” She added, “Maybe it’s wishful thinking.” Beer then stated that she doesn’t think the boy who ended up leaking the explicit photos and videos was “being malicious showing them to his friends.” The singer said, “He was a kid.”
Beer further revealed that she had to seek out the apology, not specifying from whom, following the incident. The singer shared that she “had to sit people down” and tell them, “Hey, you owe me an apology for what you did to me when I was a kid.” Beer added that she also “completely severed” her relationships with “a lot of the other people” from that time in her life. She said, “I don’t care to make up with you or be cool with you.”
