It’s very early into Season 2 of The Valley, and it’s clear that Jesse Lally and Michelle Saniei are not going to have a smooth divorce. Jesse admitted to trying to get under his estranged wife’s skin after they fought over potentially changing their daughter’s school. For her part, Michelle is feeling very on edge. And perhaps her new boyfriend is commenting on Jesse’s parenting when he shouldn’t be.
It’s creating more than enough tension. One can only assume it all points to a contentious divorce. Cue the mediation.
Jesse Lally and Michelle Saniei’s divorce will take a “couple of years” says The Valley star
In a recent episode of her Pursuit of Sassiness podcast, Michelle revealed that she expects the battle to drag on. Given the friction on both sides, the real estate agent said a “longer” divorce is imminent.
“It’s a struggle. I just [always] say you need to have two people who have the same mindset that just want to move forward in life,” Michelle stated. “If one person can’t do that, then it just ultimately makes the divorce process brutal.”
She continued, “I’m very black and white, and unfortunately, he’s not. So I think it’s going to take a couple of years to get divorced.”
In a familiar-sounding turn of events, Michelle revealed that Jesse is currently representing himself in the procedure. How very Jax Taylor of him.
“I actually have a lawyer. He does not, which makes it even harder at times. Because he thinks that he knows the law — but that’s a whole other conversation,” Michelle said.
Her podcast guest, Ryan Serhant, questioned whether the estranged couple were still able to work together as real estate agents. Michelle said she only works with Jesse on established clients.
“Anything that we’ve sold in the past — because we were team members for five or six years,” she explained. “So anybody in the past — like somebody who referred us recently — we’re actually closing this week. So that’s going to be a sale that I can talk about in a few days.”
Coparenting their four-year-old daughter, Isabella, is “awful.” The parents are still trying to find a rhythm that works. On a recent episode of The Valley, Jesse proposed a change to their custody schedule. Hopefully, they will find a method that works for the whole family.
“But I love my daughter. It’s not funny. But all I can do is smile because I always wish that one day we will get to that place,” Michelle shared. “I don’t know if it will ever happen. That is my hope because I do love my daughter and I want her to see two happy parents. So all I can do is play my role in being positive.”
