Born on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California, Snoop Dogg’s rise to fame began in 1992 with his collaboration on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single “Deep Cover” and the album “The Chronic.” His distinct voice and laid-back delivery quickly established him as a significant figure in the rap industry. Snoop’s debut album, “Doggystyle,” produced by Dr. Dre and released in 1993 under Death Row Records, was a massive success. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold 800,000 copies in its first week. The album, which featured hits like “What’s My Name?” and “Gin and Juice,” was certified quadruple platinum. His subsequent albums, including “Tha Doggfather” (1996), also saw commercial success, further cementing his status in the music world. In 1998, Snoop transitioned to Master P’s No Limit Records, releasing albums like “Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told,” “No Limit Top Dogg,” and “Tha Last Meal,” maintaining his prominence in the industry.
